Back for its sixteenth edition, the Cinema Made In Italy festival celebrates the best new Italian cinema and filmmakers at BFI Southbank over the next five days, with a programme of ten brilliant contemporary Italian films.
You’ll find biopics, period dramas, historical epics, noir thrillers and documentaries on the eclectic programme, much of which is being screened for the first time in the UK. Today’s opener is renowned opera director Damiano Michieletto’s Primavera, which is based on the life of Italian composer Vivaldi, and will feature an introduction and Q&A with the director and screenwriter Ludovica Rampoldi. Tickets are sold out, but we’ve had a lot of luck with BFI festivals’ return queues in the past!
